2009 Season - Week 17

Winners

There will be two new faces in the Premiership next season. After 3 unsuccessful attempts to gain promotion George finished third and so Brockley Mud Bugs will be in the Big League. Joining George will be rookie Craig whose Leamington Spartans put together a very strong first season finishing second in the Conference less than 4 TDs behind Rhodesia Rams. Congratulations to Cheryl who bounced immediately back into the Premiership as she is the 2009 BUMS Conference Champion. In the Premiership Johnnie, “the original and the best”, is now “the current” champion after another impressive week saw him win by a 33 point margin and extend his gap as the “alltime leading point scorer (regular season only)”. In the final three weeks of the season the Binty Bombers scored 142 points. That’s an average of 47 points per week which across a season would total 805 points!! Johnnie may not have scored that many but he did put up second highest season total ever, his 584 points being only surpassed by H’s Patriot fuelled 670 points of 2 years ago when he had the record setting Brady to Moss partnership. Johnnie had already franchised Adrian Peterson and Aaron Rodgers (nfl.com’s Fantasy MVP runner-up) when on Trading Day 1 he added Chris Johnson who went on to be nfl.com’s Fantasy MVP of 2009. Chief was runner-up for the second consecutive season, whilst posting the 6th highest total ever. In 10 previous seasons his total of 551 would have won the league. In 1995 Chief scored 557 points, the highest ever non-winning score, he finished second to Johnnie. Chief’s consolation - he is now the only owner to have never been in the conference.  Losers At one point midway through the late Sunday afternoon games Dave G was just 5 points behind Aaron but his RB LeRon McClain didn’t score and Cincinnati lost while Aaron secured safety with two late Knowshon Moreno TDs. Dave is relegated along with two owners whose trades didn’t work out. After John cut TE’s Visanthe Shiancoe and Vernon Davis on TD2 they went on to score 11 TDs for Johnnie and Chief. Meanwhile on TD1 Mark cut nfl.com’s Fantasy MVP of 2009, Chris Johnson. Mark says he got relegated so he can win the Conference as it is the only title he’s not got. He’s won the Premiership, BUMSBowl, dotcom and is in the Owners Hall of Fame Underachieving Bastards overachieve Daz put up a huge final week of the 2009 season as he totalled 60 points equalling the 13th highest weekly total ever. His score came from just 6 of his players. RB Willis McGahee scored three TDs, fellow RB Thomas Jones two, WR Santonio Holmes one, Tony Romo threw two scores, Jeff Reed kicked 12 points and Chicago won. Daz has been in the Hall five times, his most successful week was week 12 in 2002 when he put up 64 points, the equal 6th highest total ever.
